Journal of Sinar Law and Public Policy (JSLPP) is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to publishing multidisciplinary issues related to law and public policy, ranging from constitutional and administrative law to governance, human rights, and legal philosophy, in Indonesia and around the world. JSLPP is a triannual, open access, peer-reviewed, and international e-journal, published in Indonesia. We accept unpublished, high-quality, and original research manuscripts in English, resulting primarily from doctrinal, empirical, qualitative, and mixed research methodology related to or associated with multidisciplinary issues in law and public policy. JSLPP is published two times a year by Sinar Asia Institute. All research articles appearing in JSLPP have undergone a thorough blind peer review.
JSLPP will not accept research articles or manuscripts submitted for publication elsewhere.
JSLPP does not publish book reviews, program evaluations, or research articles merely explaining programs, courses, or personal experiences. All research articles submitted must be written in English.
Peer Review Process
Research articles or manuscripts submitted to JSLPP are initially reviewed by the editors for general fit with the JSLPP focus and scope and for writing quality. Only those research articles meeting the JSLPP focus and scope will be sent to reviewers for a double-blind review. Review time is typically 4-6 months. Two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the research articles or manuscripts on the basis of their expertise. Reviewers are expected to return their reviews within 4 weeks. A third reviewer will be appointed in case one of the reviewers disagrees on the quality of the research article for publication. The assigned reviewers evaluate the research articles using a standard manuscript evaluation form. They are required to treat all information in the research articles as confidential. Views of the assigned reviewers serve as a guide to JSLPP editors in making a final decision on the research articles. The final decision always belongs to the JSLPP editors. Manuscripts judged by the editors and assigned editors to be inappropriate are rejected promptly without external review.
The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities:
| Accept as written without any revisions
| Accept with minor revisions (a second round of review is not necessary)
| Accept with major revisions (a second round of review will be necessary)
| Reject the paper is not suitable for publication
Open Access Policies
Publishing in JSLPP is free of charge. However, we have found that more and more papers ignore the standards of writing, including references, citations, writing mechanics, and formatting, which requires editors to spend more time addressing issues that influence the quality of our journal. Since our journal is not funded, we will charge authors if they cannot revise the issues identified.
JSLPP provides direct open access to its content. Our publisher, Sinar Asia Institute, agrees with the Budapest Open Access Initiative definition of Open Access:
By open access, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution, and the only role for copyright in this domain, should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited.
It is JSLPP's mission to support a greater global exchange of knowledge by making the research published in this journal open to the public and reusable under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Licensing
Copyright is reserved by the first or sole author, who grants the right of first publication to JSLPP. After the manuscript is accepted for publication, authors will be required to sign a copyright transfer form. Copyright will be transferred to Sinar Asia Institute via e-mail. A copyright form will be sent to authors via e-mail after the accepted manuscript has been submitted.
Readers are free to copy, display, and distribute this abstract and the associated article, as long as the work is attributed to the author(s) and JSLPP. All other uses must be approved by the author(s) or JSLPP.
